Description

Day One: ACT Whole Team

Training Day is open to all members of the ACT Team including case managers, advocates, nurses, certified peer support specialists, and paraprofessionals.

This training will focus on the following areas:  

1. Team Struggles of being a team.   

2. Values - Knowing your why.  

3. Effective communication within the team. 

4. 5 languages of appreciation within the team.  

5. Knowing the weaknesses and strengths of team members. 

6. Burnout/Secondary Trauma

7. Self Care

Throughout the training, there will be breakout sessions to give participants an opportunity to share experiences and discuss challenges.

Whole Team Agenda

8 – 9 a.m.

Social Work

Social Workers: This course qualifies for a maximum of 6.5 Continuing Education hours. The Community Mental Health Association is an approved provider with the Michigan Social Work Continuing Education Collaborative. Approved Provider Number: MICEC 060818. Qualifies as “face-to-face" (in-person) education.

 

 


MCBAP Related

Substance Use Disorder Professionals: CMHA is approved by Michigan Certification Board for Addiction Professionals (MCBAP). CMHA maintains the responsibility for the program and content. Substance Use Disorder professionals participating in this training may receive a maximum of 6.5 related contact hours. It is important that attendees keep a copy of the training program brochure containing the workshop description.


Attendance Only Record of Attendance: This certificate verifies attendance only. No continuing education credit is awarded with this certificate. CE-eligible certificates are available separately in the participant portal.
Nursing Credit

Michigan Public Health Institute—Continuing Education Solutions (MPHI-CES) is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Louisiana State Nurses Association - Approver, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

Laura is also a Lead MIFAST reviewer, ACT/IDDT trainer and a consultant to organizations interested in improving their adherence to evidence-based practices.

John Moir, LMSW, CADC-M: John has over 30 years’ experience in the mental health/substance abuse field, including 18 years in community mental health. John is currently a full-time therapist with Henry Ford Health and member of the trauma informed Guide Team at Henry Ford Health Maplegrove Center. John is currently the therapy advisor to the 48th District Specialty Treatment Court (Sobriety Court). John has also been a MIFAST reviewer.

Payment Methods and Cancellation Policy

Terms and Conditions-

Payment MUST be received at the time of registration.  No checks or ACH will be accepted. No exceptions to this rule.

No shows will not receive a refund.

Cancellation Policy: If you do not cancel and do not attend, you will not receive a refund.  Substitutions are permitted based on availability.  Cancellations must be received in writing at least 14 days prior to the training for a full refund of less administrative fee based on the registration price below.

If cancellation is received less than 14 days prior to the training, no refund will be given.  Exceptions must be approved by the Director of Education. 

Special Accommodations: This information is requested when you register, however arrangements for special accommodations will be honored for those who submit via email 14 days prior to the training.  Clearly state your specific needs for mobility assistance, interpreters, etc. Attempts for on-site requests will be made.

National Accreditation Rules: National Accreditation rules indicate that if you are over five (5) minutes late or depart early, you forfeit your continuing education hours for the entire training.  Please note that this is a National rule that CMHA must enforce or we could lose our provider status to provide continuing education hours in the future.  This rule will be strictly followed.

Evaluation: Each participant is required to complete an evaluation of the course and the instructor.  If you have any issues with the way in which this conference was conducted or other problems, you may note that on your evaluation of the conference or you may contact CMHA at 517-374-6848 or through our website at for resolution.

Severe Weather Policy: Events will take place as scheduled and we will not be able to refund registration fees. In the event of severe weather, please check the CMHA website at  www.CMHAM.org for scheduling delays and event updates.

Individuals registering for this grant-based event will be reviewed by MDHHS for approval to attend and may be contacted for more information and/or cancellation of registration if not within the parameters of the grant-specified audience.
