This workshop is designed for those individuals who want to fine-tune and enhance their understanding and use of the LOCUS (Level of Care Utilization System). Ideal for users of the LOCUS, LOCUS trainers, and organizational supervisors. Topics include: understanding the purpose of LOCUS, use of independent criteria, factoring in co-morbidity, utilizing LOCUS within person-centered planning, and understanding appropriate utilization of overrides with accompanying clinical rationale. There will be time for problem-solving and questions.

Jasmin is a Licensed Professional Counselor, who is a Certified Advanced Addictions counselor. Jasmin has been working in the Community Mental Health field for 10+ years and is a consultant for MDHHS for the LOCUS implementation project. Jasmin has been using and training the LOCUS for over 15 years. In the past, Jasmin was the co-lead for implementation In Oakland County and uses it daily clinically and in a supervisory capacity. In her role with MDHHS, she is co-leading on the implementation project, co-creator of the LOCUS Fidelity tool, and a fidelity team lead. Jasmin thoroughly enjoys working on the LOCUS implementation project and is excited to help other regions implement it successfully and with fidelity.
Jean is a co-coordinator of the MDHHS statewide LOCUS Implementation Project. Formerly a ten-year co-lead for the Oakland County LOCUS implementation, Jean has worked with social workers, case managers, supervisors to enhance LOCUS use, reliability, and fidelity. Jean is a long-term training director and recipient rights manager within the behavioral health and substance use systems.

Cancellation Policy: If you do not cancel and do not attend, you will not receive a refund. Substitutions are permitted based on availability. Cancellations must be received in writing at least 14 days prior to the training for a full refund of less administrative fee based on the registration price below.

Special Accommodations: This information is requested when you register, however arrangements for special accommodations will be honored for those who submit via email 14 days prior to the training. Clearly state your specific needs for mobility assistance, interpreters, etc. Attempts for on-site requests will be made.
National Accreditation Rules: National Accreditation rules indicate that if you are over five (5) minutes late or depart early, you forfeit your continuing education hours for the entire training. Please note that this is a National rule that CMHA must enforce or we could lose our provider status to provide continuing education hours in the future. This rule will be strictly followed.
Evaluation: Each participant is required to complete an evaluation of the course and the instructor. If you have any issues with the way in which this conference was conducted or other problems, you may note that on your evaluation of the conference or you may contact CMHA at 517-374-6848 or through our website at for resolution.
Severe Weather Policy: Events will take place as scheduled and we will not be able to refund registration fees. In the event of severe weather, please check the CMHA website at www.CMHAM.org for scheduling delays and event updates.
