Michelle Walkowski, LMSW, CAADC, has been in the field of social work with expertise in providing treatment to individuals with COD for over 20 years. Her career began with the focus on working with individuals experiencing homelessness in the greater Lansing area. As her career continued to evolve, she worked in many different areas of the public mental health system including day treatment, jail mental health services, intake, case management, outpatient, IDDT and ACT. She currently supervises an ACT/IDDT team for St. Clair County Community Mental Health where she has been employed for 19 years. Michelle is part of the current Michigan Fidelity Assistance Support Team (MIFAST) review team for ACT/IDDT and also provides training in providing and improving service delivery with evidence-based practices. She is passionate about providing the highest quality services to individuals while working to reduce stigma toward any COD within the community. She believes strongly in recovery and enjoys providing direct service, training, and consultation services. Michelle also worked for Michigan State University for 15 years as a field liaison; dedicated to working with students preparing to enter the field of social work.
