Robert Compton, MA, LLP, CPC, currently functions as a clinician in a private setting and a behavioral health consultant in Wayne County. He began his career in behavioral health working to reintegrate juveniles back into the community after being released from training school using Multidimensional Family Therapy. This work ignited his passion for servicing co-occurring individuals, and families, and extended to overarching community work. Over the past 30 years, Robert has functioned as a clinician performing both home-based and traditional treatment, program supervisor, clinical director over a child and family behavioral health organization, contract manager over juvenile justice networks, and senior director of an agency providing clinical-focused mental health, substance use, and co-occurring shelter, residential, and outpatient programs. Robert worked for 21 years at Detroit-Wayne Integrated Health Network where he implemented program development and training for ACT, COD treatment, Dialectical Behavioral Treatment, Prolonged Exposure, and Trauma-Informed Care, incorporating stage-wise treatment concepts, and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Robert is a charter member of the MIFAST and continues to operate as a reviewer of ACT, COD, MI, IDDT programs.
